Budgeting

Write about your approach to budgeting.

I believe this is a critical component to managing financial success. Statistically, far too many people don’t understand this about budgeting and living within there financial universe. This obviously includes our government. We cannot spend more than we bring in for very long without creating problems that may have catastrophic consequences.

One law

If you had the power to change one law, what would it be and why?

If they gave me the the power to Change, one law, I’d make it against the law for any government to suppress any group of people of any religion to express their beliefs, regardless of what that is without fear of prosecution, intimidation, imprisonment, and in some cases death.

My dream home!

Write about your dream home.

A spectacular 2 story walkout log home with a wide open 4000 sq ff. It would have a raised deck thats only accessible from the upper level interior. This keeps from having bears and mountain lions on the deck. It would wrap the front of the home for relaxing and viewing .

Sitting gently on top of highest peak of a mountain for unobstructed spectacular views and breathtaking sunsets. It would be out side of a small town that has the general services necessary for a great life.

It would back up to a national forest so my only neighbors are deer, elk, fox and other forest creatures.

I bet you’ve guessed it, 9885 feet 12 miles to Woodland park Colorado

I lived there from 2006 until 2014 when I developed a high altitude disorder Hashimoto’s. I now live at 5000 ft with great view’s of the mountains in the desert. That was still my favorite place.

Archery

Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?

Im not sure this qualifies and it’s not for lack of interest. I had a pretty good fall on my mountain bike a year ago and injured my shoulder and I still haven’t recovered enough to pull the bow back more than a few times at each attempt.

Im not a hunter but love the focus of shooting. I will get back to at some point or get a different bow that requires less pull strength at some point.

I will return.

Do you need a break? From what?

I’m pretty happy with the way things are in my world.

When we have things that are a burden, they need to be dealt with directly.

There’s an old saying “It’s not the mountain that wears you out. It’s the grains of sand in your shoes.”

Just my view today! Could be different tomorrow, but probably not. I dump the sand daily.

The internet

The most important invention in your lifetime is…

I’m sure lots of people have this as their response. For me, the Internet provides me access to all of the Great authors through apps, like hoopla audiobooks from my library. YouTube premium, offers tons of educational content.

My Stock trading platforms online was not available before the Internet.

I could go on and on however, I think we all know the advantages.

I know there are disadvantages to this kind of content being available at your fingertips. It’s up to you how you discipline yourself in the use of this tool.

I can’t imagine our world without Internet again.

Time perspective!

How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?

Regardless of where you are on the time cycle of your life, you are affected dramatically by the various phases that happened to you along the path of life. In one year and four months, I will be 70.

I have lived an extremely active and productive life. Fortunately, I was able to retire at 50 from my business’s and buy a home on top of the mountain in beautiful Colorado. I have enjoyed the last nearly 20 years immensely.

As I look back over timeframe of my life,, I think the most significant things have to do with people. The birth of my son, when I was 30. The friendships that developed overtime and the death of four of my life long best friends.

I now think that life is very short, and that fortunately I got off the treadmill early enough in life to enjoy a good portion of it.

We don’t have a crystal ball. We don’t know when the music is going to stop. We just need to dance as much as we can.

That’s my thought. Looking forward to hearing yours. Have a blessed day.
